Leonardo DiCaprio is reportedly buying a New York apartment with on-off girlfriend Gisele Bundchen - amid rumours they are engaged.

The tempestuous couple have apparently patched things up following a recent reported break-up and are setting up home together on the 10th floor of the exclusive Richard Meier building.

The pair were overheard discussing the new apartment while enjoying a dinner date at posh New York restaurant Megu, according to America's New York Post newspaper.

Although the property purchase has sparked speculation the twosome are engaged, Leonardo's spokesperson insisted the couple have no plans to wed.

Earlier this year, Leonardo hinted he was ready to tie the knot with Gisele after giving up his womanising ways.

The Hollywood actor admitted he was deeply in love with the Brazilian beauty and wanted to spend the rest of his life with her.

He said: "I've been with Gisele for four years and we're happy together. Monogamy is the key to a good relationship.

"When I was younger I had a lot of fun. I've had my fair share of models."
