Kylie Minogue is being cared for by nuns as she prepares to undergo surgery for breast cancer later today (19.05.05).
The pop babe, who was diagnosed with the disease on Tuesday, is being tended by the Missionary sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus who work as nurses at Melbourne's Cabrini hospital.
A leading Australian surgeon has been jetted into the hospital's oncology unit to operate on the 36-year-old star - after it emerged the cancer, which was caught in the early stages, had not spread.
The sexy singer, who is being comforted by family members and boyfriend Olivier Martinez, then faces an agonising decision over future treatment - which could potentially leave her unable to have children.
A source close to the star told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "One of her biggest concerns is that the chemotherapy could leave her infertile.
"Kylie has made no secret of the fact she wants to become a mom and this illness could ruin that forever.'
Yesterday, Kylie's younger sister, Dannii, flew from London to join her family.
Kylie's French actor boyfriend Olivier - who has put his Hollywood career on hold - whisked her off for a romantic day out, which included sailing off the Australian coast, before she was admitted to hospital.
