Maverick movie director Quentin Tarantino is pondering whether or not to build on the success of Kill Bill with an animated prequel.
The news comes ahead of the launch of Kill Bill: Volume Two, the hotly anticipated second instalment of his slash-'em-up homage to oriental cinema.
Tarantino is clearly proud of his two-part epic starring muse Uma Thurman and is keen to tell the story of how Bill became such a deadly assassin.
"I've been thinking about revisiting the story in a couple of ways," QT said during a recent interview with Empire magazine. "I've been thinking about doing it as an anime feature that would tell the entire origin of Bill."
The final two instalments of The Matrix spawned an animated spin-off "Animatrix", which has proved a hit with fans on DVD.
Kill Bill: Volume Two bursts onto UK cinema screens on April 16th.
