Keira Knightley is being lined up to play Elizabeth Bennet in a new adaptation of "Pride and Prejudice".
Working Title, the British film company behind films like "Billy Elliot" and "Notting Hill", has the rights to the Jane Austin classic and wants Knightley to play Lizzy.
"She is quite young, wonderfully handsome, extremely agreeable, and, to crown the whole, she means to join our cast," said the film producer.
Joe Wright will direct, he secured the role following his work on TV series "Charles II: The Power & the Passion".
Filming is set to begin in August.
However, Fitzwilliam Darcy, literature's most eligible bachelor, is yet to be cast. Colin Firth was seen as the right man for the 1995 TV series - he is currently playing Mark Darcy in the "Bridget Jones" films.
