Hollywood star Keanu Reeves' long career in action movies will be acclaimed at the upcoming World Stunt Awards.

The 39-year-old actor will receive an honorary prize as best action movie star for his works on movies such as "Speed", "Chain Reaction" and "The Matrix" trilogy.

Veteran stunt professional Ronnie Rondell, whose career spans 50 years and includes the major hits "Lethal Weapon", "Twister", "The Crow" and even Reeves' "Speed", will get the World Stunt Association's lifetime achievement award.

The ceremony acknowledges the work of men and women who risk their lives to make action movies look more realistic and will be presented on May 16th.

Categories are varied and include best fight, best work with a vehicle and best fire stunt.

Dennis Hopper and Carmen Electra are lined up to host the event, which will be recorded at Paramount Studios for broadcast on May 26th on Spike TV.

"[Keanu] has consistently shown an ability to learn from the stunt teams on his many films and has expressed a genuine interest in the field of stunt work," said the awards' executive producer Gernot Friedhuber.
