I'm a Celebrity stars Jordan and Peter Andre have welcomed the birth of their first baby.

The engaged couple, who met on the set of the jungle competition in 2003, are said to be "thrilled" with the arrival of their baby boy, who has yet to be named.

"We were a bit scared because it wasn't due for another three to four weeks," pop star Peter said last night.

"Katie [Jordan's real name] had a few complications and we came in last night and doctors suggested we have a caesarean section first thing this morning."

He added: "We are the happiest, I swear to God, the happiest people in the world."

Jordan, who gave birth in the private Portland hospital in London, already has a three-year-old from her relationship with footballer Dwight Yorke.

As little Harvey has a rare genetic condition that has left him blind, news of the glamour model's second baby was delayed until it could be confirmed that he was healthy.

The couple's courtship on I'm A Celebrity was widely regarded as a publicity stunt, particularly as it came as part of Peter Andre's attempt to relaunch his music career.

But sceptics appear to have been proved wrong by news of the couple's engagement and Jordan's subsequent pregnancy - although Peter's re-release of Mysterious Girl did get to number one.
