Jimi Hendrix album recorded 40 years ago to be released in US and UK

Jimi Hendrix’s twelve previously unreleased tracks will be included in a new album

Jimi Hendrix’s official website confirms that the late singer’s album, recorded in 1968 and 1969, will be released in the US and UK next year.

 

It is believed that the songs on the album People, Hell and Angels was intended for Hendrix’s follow-up album to his Electric Ladyland, which he was working on when he died.

The new album will be released on March 5th in the US. No release date has yet been announced for the UK.

The late singer’s official website suggests that the tracks are “new, experimental directions.” The website also states that the album is “fresh diversions from his legendary guitar work”, as he was reportedly trying out keyboards, horns, percussions, and a second guitar during his career.

Aside from the album, it is thought that reassembled archive footages of Hendrix premiering a new band and performing tracks such as ‘Voodoo’ ‘Child’, ‘Fire’, ‘Purple Haze’, and a rendition of ‘Star Spangled Banner’ will also hit cinemas around the world later this month.
