... back big businesses over children’s lives.
Famous TV chef Jamie Oliver said that he would be “really, really, really upset” if David Cameron does not back up his plea for a sugary drinks tax to tackle childhood obesity. He added that should this happen, he and other campaigners would “go a bit more underground, get a little bit less nice.”
However, the PM’s former adviser said that targeting children as part of a strategy to fight obesity is a mistake.
Oxford University professor Susan Jebb, said: “If the focus of this strategy is entirely on children, then that would be a mistake.
“The Government needs to have a comprehensive strategy and that needs to include adults and children.”
Meanwhile, Jamie added: “I don’t mind not getting the tax if there is something better and something more symbolic.
“What we need is a change, a moment.”
“It is personal, it is about you taking us into the decade and setting a precedent that we can’t go back on. And hurry up, please.”
