X-ray walk through
The European Parliament angered the European commission when they squashed proposals for walk through x-ray scanners to be installed in airports over the continent, branding the devices as intrusive.
There are concerns that it will essentially show people naked. Cheryl Johnson, general manager of the Office of Transport Security, confirmed: "It will show the private parts of people, but what we've decided is that we're not going to blur those out, because it severely limits the detection capabilities."
The machines, which have already been on trial in the Netherlands, Switzerland and Britain, scan passengers as they move through the airport, detecting for weapons, liquids and even check shoes for explosives.
