The trumpeter who played the famous theme tune used at the beginning of Coronation Street has revealed that he was paid just 36 for the job.
For the last 40 years Dave Browning has been ruing his decision to take the one off payment instead of asking for royalties.
The hit soap has of course been running since 1964 - that's almost 6,000 episodes.
"I suppose if a repeat fee had been part of the deal I would be a rich man now," he said.
"I was happy at the time, but it meant Granada Television held all the rights to it."
The original theme recorded by Mr Browning in 1960 is the same one used on the show today.
Over his 40-year music career he has worked with the likes of Paul McCartney and Tony Bennett and recorded other famous theme tunes from The Archers to Opportunity Knocks.
