'Hollyoaks' bosses are reportedly launching an X-rated version of the show.

The Channel 4 programme will be geared towards adults and will be a sexier variation on the hit teen soap.

Its rumoured it will be even steamier than the recent late-night editions of 'Hollyoaks'.

Programme makers Mersey TV are said to be want two of the shows biggest stars - 20-year-old Gemma Atkinson, who plays Lisa Hunter, and 24-year-old Marcus Patric, who plays Ben Davies - to taking the lead roles in the new series.

Creators hope the raunchy show - which is yet to be named - could become the British equivalent of US hit 'Sex and the City' when it airs.

Meanwhile, stunning Gemma has admitted she doesn't mind male fans fantasising about her following her saucy antics on the soap.

She confessed: "They tell me they watch it on a Sunday morning when they're a bit horny.

"But you can't think about that when you're acting."
