Visitors to Google’s home page will today, Monday 8th July, see an animation of an alien crash as the Google Doodle marks 66 years since the Roswell incident.
This relates to the Roswell incident of 1947 where there were claims from some people that an alien landed on earth.
There have been many conspiracy theories over the years and in a bid to end this, the US government released a report in 1997.
The doodle begins with what becomes a shaky ride for the alien before it crashes on earth sending out three sparks. You can then press on the animation to guide the alien to certain objects.
Other Google Doodles from this year include; the anniversary of Maurice Sendak’s 85th birthday, Earth Day 2013 and mathematician Leonhard Euler 306th birthday, among others.
