Jane Lynch, famed for playing the foul-mouthed coach on the hit TV musical series 'Glee', has married her longterm partner.

Lynch tied the knot with Lara Embry, a psychologist, in Massachusetts.

The couple held the small ceremony at the Blue Heron Restaurant in Sunderland on Monday May 31.

American publication Star reported that only 21 guests attended the nuptials, which were held on the restaurant's outdoor patio area which offers views of Sugarloaf mountain.

A restaurant employee told Star: "They've been planning the event for the past few months. We were all so excited. They're really great people."

Lynch previously told US Magazine: "We don't have any plans at all yet.

"But I have a ring and everything. We're very happy and very excited!"

They chose to wed in Massachusetts because same sex marriages are not legal in California, where the couple lives.
