Charlie Sheen to face jail

Charlie Sheen has made a plea deal with over domestic violence allegations involving his wife, a prosecutor has stated.

Chief Deputy District Attorney Arnold Mordkin claimed that an agreement with Colorado authorities had been reached but did not confirm specific details.

Reports have suggested that the 'Hot Shots' and 'Wall Street' actor will enter a plea of no contest at a court appearance next week to assaulting his wife Brooke in Aspen last year. It will see the actor seek a 30-day sentence for the misdemeanour charge.

Prior to this deal, Sheen had pleaded not guilty to menacing, misdemeanour assault and criminal mischief.

Brooke Mueller Sheen had told police that he had put a knife to her throat and threatened to kill her during an argument on Christmas Day last year.

Following the incident, both Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller Sheen have reportedly completed alcohol rehabilitation programs.

The 30-day jail sentence could be reduced to as little as 17 days with good behaviour.

Sheen married Brooke Mueller in 2008 following his acrimonious divorce from actress Denise Richards. Mueller is his third wife.

Sheen was named America's highest paid TV star two years ago, earning $1.5m for every episode of the hit sitcom 'Two and a Half Men'. After initially vowing to quit, he recently signed a deal to continue starring on the show for another two seasons.
