Tickets for next year's Glastonbury festival have sold out within hours of going on sale.
The tickets went on sale at 9am yesterday and were snapped up by music fans in just four hours.
Some users encountered technical problems when trying to buy tickets online, with festival organisers having to tweet details of ticket availability.
Michael and Emily Eavis apologised to those who were not able to purchase tickets:
“We’re very sorry to those of you who didn’t get tickets, and acknowledge there were some issues with the website/phone line due to the sheer volume of people trying to get through.”
For those who missed out, a resale of cancelled tickets is expected at the start of next year.
Glastonbury 2011 will take place between June 24 and 26. The three headline acts are yet to be announced.
