TFI Friday star Chris Evens is set for a return to television.

The head of Ginger TV productions will return this time on an educational programme for children.

Working for Channel 4 Learning Evans will interview celebrities and politicians in their old schools.

This will be his first presenting job since the iconic TFI Friday went off the air in 2000.

The Sun has quoted an source close to the production as saying: "Chris has just signed up to do the project. He will be talking to people who inspire others about how they grew up and how they benefited from their education.

"It's something new for Chris, but he's looking forward to it. It's exciting because Channel 4 is the place where he got his first break on The Big Breakfast."

The series is set to be screened later this year.
