Gary Barlow had the support of his former band mates as he received a Music Industry Trust Award in a ceremony held in London. Mark Owen, Howard Donald, Jason Orange, and Robbie Williams were not only there to show support, but also to perform. The group sang their 1995 hit “Never Forget”.
The event was held in an effort to raise funds for the Brit Trust and Nordoff Robbins, the UK’s leading provider of music therapy.
Among those people who paid tribute to Barlow, the Prince of Wales described the singer as a “national treasure” in a video message.
Reportedly, Barlow accepted the award saying he felt delighted and humbled. He added he enjoyed every minute of every moment of his musical career.
"I've loved learning as much as achieving, the low-lights as much as the highlights," he said, as quoted by the BBC.
"It means so much to me to be recognised by the industry that I love."
Other celebrities who showed their support included Barlow’s fellow X-Factor judges Nicole Scherzinger, Tulisa Contostavlos, and Louis Walsh.
