There are more than 600 species in the UK and only one, Steatoda Nobilis, or the False Widow, is known to bite humans.

The False Widow, closely related to the more poisonous Black Widow, is found in Dorset, Devon, Cornwall and Essex.

Spider bites tend to be one or two little puncture marks.

Do not disturb. Spiders usually only bite as a defence mechanism.

While bites from spiders outside the UK, can be fatal, if you're bitten by a UK spider, there's really no cause for concern.
