Small farms are the beating heart of the countryside. The children go to the local school and the adults use the village shop. The farmer keeps in business the local vet and farm equipment supplier. The local economy depends on the small farmer as does the environment.

Unfortunately small farms are no longer economically viable and they have now become a vanishing breed.
