The couple have been dating for almost three years and the Bridesmaids star felt it was time to settle down, so proposed by the sea on a trip to Guernsey.

They announced their news on their twitter pages, with Porter posting:

"I guess he liked it cos he put a ring on it #engaged." (sic)
