As the legend goes, the actress dubbed 'The Sweater Girl' was discovered when she was just 15-years-old. She was sat outside Schwab's Drug Store in Hollywood, while sipping soda opposite her school.
There, she was spotted by William R. Wilkerson, publisher of the Hollywood Reporter. Wilkerson referred her to Zeppo Marx whose agency immediately signed her on and introduced her to film director Mervyn LeRoy. He then cast her in the 1937 movie 'They Won't Forget'.
