In a land v air drag race that would last over two miles, Hammond jumped behind the wheel of a Bugatti Veyron and took on a plane!

As Hammond hurtled down the track at break neck speeds, the plane (a cutting edge Eurofighter) took off and headed straight up. With one turn each it was death defying stuff right until the end. But despite travelling at 196 mph Hammond could not keep up and the Eurofighter beat him over the line at the last second.
