Discovered in a forest in Barbados, this snake is as thin as spaghetti and is so slender that it could slide through a pencil if the lead were removed.

This tiny terror is known as a thread snake and belongs to a group of reptiles called worm snakes (due to their earthworm appearance) or slender blind snakes. Because their eyes are so small, they rely on their sense of smell and use their tongue to taste the air ahead.
