Yves 'Fusionman' Rossy
The Swiss daredevil known as 'The Fusionman' has become the first man to fly solo across the English Channel using a single jet-propelled wing.
Rossy travelled to a height of more than 8,20ft before diving out of a plane with the 8ft carbon fibre wing strapped to his back. Then he proceeded to travel for 10 minutes at speeds of up to 160mph, from the French coast to the white cliffs of Dover.
This is far from the first heroic feat performed by the rocket man. On May 14 he flew for six minutes above Lake Geneva for the press, marking the first public appearance of the jet pack, which Rossy invented himself.
