Repairing clothes
While sewing was taught in schools decades ago, this useful skill seems to have fallen out of favour in the modern world. But with wallets staying closed, basic repairs on old clothes could save a small fortune as opposed to investing in new ones.
Sewing on buttons, fixing zips or stitching a patch over a hole are all useful skills, as is the importance of knowing how to do the washing correctly. Knowing that some clothes shrink while others soak up unwanted colours are quick and easy lessons.
