The premise of this film is that by watching The Ring tape, it basically means you're going to die. And, like it or not, we're all going pass away one day..

Therefore, thinking that a girl could at any minute pop out of your TV screen with only one thing on her mind only adds to what is already a frightening concept for a film.

Samara's specific awfulness lies in her not just being simply evil, but because she's also an child.
