Jarrel - or Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink as he's widely known - was born in Paramaribo Suriname in 1972. Then part of the Dutch Empire this made him allegeable for their national side and soon he was playing both national and professional football.

By 1997 he'd transferred to Premiership club Leeds United and netted 23 goals in his first season alone. He also played for Chelsea, signed for a then club record breaking £15 million and later Middlesbrough and Charlton when they were in the top flight.
