This bout between the undisputed Middleweight champion Hagler and the challenger Hearns was promoted as 'The War' and the title proved very apt. Despite only lasting three rounds it is a classic. The normally slow starting Hagler stormed Hearns from the start in a blistering first round considered the greatest round ever by Ring Magazine. By the end of the third Hearns was knocked out and Hagler had confirmed his status as one of the greatest Middleweights ever.
