The console: PlayStation 2

The PlayStation 2 may not have been the only console to have 'Grand Theft Auto III' released on it but it did grab the title a good year before the opposition.

And if any game could sell a console it was 'GTA'. No one had seen anything like the free form sandbox world Rockstar offered up and the sales figures showed it.
