Kurt Russell was one of the definite 80s action stars. Like Mel Gibson, he could not only act but also act and rock a mullet at the same time, while their rivals of the era struggled through a thick European accent to piece a sentence together.
Russell had charm, oddball humour and an impressive phsyique to match. Just some of his iconic tongue-in-cheek action classics include 'Tango and Cash', 'Big Trouble in Little China', 'Escape From New York' and 'The Thing' (the latter three directed by cult action/horror master John Carpenter).
