With not one, not two but three VMA awards under her belt, Britney Spears has proven she's still the princess of pop.

Although she didn't perform at the MTV award show, Britney opened the event introducing Rihanna and received a standing ovation from the star-studded crowd. Looking spectacular in a shimmering silver dress, she scooped a trio of gongs for Best Female Video, Best Pop Video, and Video of the Year, for her single 'Piece of Me'. She said: "I want to thank my fans, this is dedicated to you."

Far from her disastrous performance at last year's event, the singer has come along way since her very public breakdown began in 2007.
