Researchers at Harvard University working with the US military's Defence Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) have developed a tiny robotic dragonfly complete with minute wings that flap at 110 beats per second.

The tiny robot can be sent to spy in areas that may be too dangerous for humans but is designed to look exactly like a fly so it can pass unnoticed.
