Geri was engaged to the business tycoon Fabrizio Politi a month after meeting him at the end of 2008. But their whirlwind romance came to an end in April 2009.

Politi said of their split: "I had been looking for a beautiful woman to settle down with and start a family, and I thought in Geri I had finally found that person."
