Anne Robinson allegedly caused a stir after she refused to appear on the BBC's 'Breakfast' show unless they shelled out £550 for her to get her hair and make-up done. Her interview slot was only seven-and-a-half-minutes long to plug her own return to the Beeb's Watchdog programme.
According to the Daily Mirror, she refused to use the show's in-house stylist and her PR insisted they bring in her own make-up artist and hairdresser... at a cost of £200 and £350 respectively.
Robinson is already paid £2million a year for presenting 'The Weakest Link' and 'Watchdog'. A BBC source said: "When we heard about her demands everyone was furious - and most of us wanted to drop her.
"We couldn't believe she would be so difficult, especially as we were giving her the opportunity to promote her own show. In the end we paid up. But no one was happy about it - we are under pressure to account for all our expenditure and it is very hard to justify this kind of expense."
