This miracle drug could soon be available on the NHS to battle the most common cause of blindness in Britain. Previously this was only available for a lucky 20% of sufferers.
The treatment which lasts two years and costs 28,000 was previously deemed too expensive for widespread use by the 250,000 people in the UK diagnosed with the ailment. But that decision could be overturned by the start of 2008.
