Cinnamon
Alcohol, junk food and lack of sleep send blood sugar levels on a rollercoaster ride of ups and downs, leaving you tired, hungry and barrelling towards the nearest snack.
But don't worry, the Americans have saved us with their research which states that just half a teaspoon of cinnamon reduces these levels enough ward off cravings and slow down your appetite. Dunking a stick into your tea, or sprinkling some into your coffee not only tastes great but helps you out in the long run. The calorie-free sweet-scented wonder is also fantastic sprinkled over cereal and yoghurts. Just smelling it can beat cravings.
