Alam's affairs with former England manager Sven Gran-Erikson and FA Chief Executive Mark Palios brought her into the public eye. She revealed to newspapers (in graphic detail) all about their bedroom antics.

Palios soon resigned and Alam went on to reap in the benefits from her revelations with more interviews and an appearance on the controversial series of Celebrity Big Brother in 2007.
