'McCabe and Mrs. Miller' (1971)

Christie and Beatty were two of the hottest sex symbols of the 1970s, with their onscreen partnership delivering the classics to considerable success including 'Shampoo', 'McCabe and Mrs. Miller' and Beatty's own directional debut 'Heaven Can Wait' - a classic love story which gave Beatty four Oscar nominations alone writing, producing, acting and directing.

Hal Ashby's adult satire 'Shampoo' in 1975 gave Christie a chance to show off her sexual prowess and sharp comedy skills against Beatty's excellent take on a sex addicted hairdresser but it was their teaming in Robert Altman's post-modern western 'McCabe and Mrs. Miller' which brought out their most subtle dramatic performances.
