'The Godfather: Part II' (1974)

'Righteous Kill' marks the third, long awaited collaboration of the Hollywood titans casting them together as cops hunting a killer. Both Oscar winners in their own right, they'll struggle to top their two previous crime epics.

They never actually shared a scene in 'The Godfather: Part II' but it shot De Niro to Oscar glory and cemented Pacino's reputation as the greatest actor of 70s. Their eventual reunion came as a cop and a thief in Michael Mann's epic masterpiece 'Heat' in 1995.
