Sean "Diddy" Combs
Back then: At a young age P Diddy's father was murdered so he was raised upstate by his mother, who reportedly worked several jobs. His big break: As a business student at Howard University, he landed an intern gig at Uptown records, where he quickly made his way from the mail room to the boardroom.
Now: Diddy has elevated to become a rap superstar and he lives a life of excess to prove it. Though he has sold his record label Bad Boy Records to the Warner Music Group for a big wedge, he still presides over the label. As well as rap music, Diddy also has income from the Sean John clothing line, a popular fragrance and a restaurant chain.
