It might not seem like a traditional choice of Christmas getaway, what with it being the height of summer down under in December, but it seems that more and more Brits are fleeing across the globe in search of some sun at the most miserable time of the year weather wise back home.
It's hard to imagine the sun being around at Christmas time, maybe because it's been so many months since we last saw it but BBQ-ing on the beach in soaring temperatures is very enticing. And don't worry Christmas down under has all the glitter, tinsel, trees and stockings of a Christmas this side of the equator.
Australia is not cheap to travel to with only small change left out of £1000 for a flight. But if the price is right it is well worth a visit.
Hundreds of Britons emmigrate to Australia every year so there must be something about the place we love. So why not see what the fuss is about this December and try an alternative Christmas on the beach.
