Being a United Nations goodwill ambassador since 2001, Angelina has taken part in a number of awareness-raising projects and trips in Africa.

Her work has helped children's charity UNICEF and she contributes her own money to various charities. She and her partner Brad Pitt gave the money from a deal for the first pictures of their baby daughter, Shiloh, to charity.

Pitt is also actively involved in a lot of her work in Africa and began campaigning for a green approach to the reconstruction of New Orleans, the area devastated by Hurricane Katrina. He's working on the project with Global Green USA.
