Comedian Russell filed for divorce from his popstar wife Katy at the end of last year, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason.

In a statement, the 36-year-old said:

"Sadly, Katy and I are ending our marriage. I'll always adore her and I know we'll remain friends."

News of the split came following months of press speculation about the couple.

They first got together in 2008 and married in 2010 in a ceremony in India.
