The East German car that zoomed from 0-62mph in a matter of 21 seconds is set to make a speedy return due to a surprising amount of public demand.
The Trabant with its 25 horsepower engine (the most reliable of which is visible here) is being relaunched as a trendy family car, much like the cult VW Beetle and Mini.
The originals, first made in 1957, sported roofs, bonnets and doors made from plastic reinforced by the sturdiest wool or cotton money can buy.
