Created by Idan Noyberg and Gal Bulka and published on designboom.com, the 'b-tourist' is a 'versatile' piece of elastic fabric that attaches between two plane seat headrests. The gial is to allow passengers to “quietly eat, read a book, watch a movie and sleep without being disturbed” while in their own cordoned off area.
Adjusting the plastic rings can create storage space, head rests and full or partial privacy partitions. You wouldn't want to sit next to someone asleep in this when you're trying to get to the toilet, or worse still in an emergency.
The 'b-tourist' is far from the first dodgy invention we've seen, have a look through these oddball creations!
