Back in 2000, Big Brother let 11 contestants enter the house. Latter series saw 16 housemates walk through the door on launch night and then four more were thrown in for good measure a week later - totalling 20 entries into BB9.

How can viewers possibly get to know the characters when we are overwhelmed with new faces? There simply isn't enough camera time for fans to get to know who they like/dislike.
