This is the holy grail of lost British films - the master director Alfred Hitchcock’s second film as director following The Pleasure Garden, made well before he dazzled us and changed the face of cinema forever with the likes of Psycho, Rear Window, North By Northwest and Vertigo.
The BFI put it in no uncertain terms: The Mountain Eagle is "the Most Wanted’s most wanted." The Cine Tirol Film Commission has also described it as "the most wanted film in the world."
