Twilight is part one of the Twilight series of books, which follows 17-year-old Bella Swan, who moves from Phoenix, Arizona, to the colder climate of Forks, Washington. The novel is followed by New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn.

Publishers Weekly called Meyer one of the most "promising new authors of 2005" and Twlight went on to become the best-selling book of 2008.
