Samsung has launched its flagship phone, the Galaxy Note 7 at events in New York, Rio and London. This marks the company’s major handset this year following the success of Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge in spring. The latest in big-screen phone was built on the features in the S7 range.
The latest model has a 5.7in display, managing to increase its screen size without increasing the overall size of the handset. Its edges are perfectly aligned and the screen slopes down on both sides, making it especially comfortable to hold.
It is claimed to be the most secure phone that has been made. It features Samsung’s own Knox platform that supplements the fingerprint sensor with iris recognition, which can be used even when you’re wearing lenses or glasses. To use it, you have to press the home button and look at yourself in the two slightly grey circles to unlock the phone.
As for the display, the new handset has High Dynamic Range (HDR), a technology that is almost exclusively found in the most advanced TVs. The display is very high-resolution which means that it is more detailed than the eye can routinely see.
