Survival guru Bear Gylls has beaten Ben Fogle and Ray Mears after he dominated a new Radio Times poll to uncover TV’s top adventurer.
Grylls was most recently seen in Channel 4’s The Island where contestants had to fend for themselves after they are dropped in a remote location. He also made his film debut recently, having voiced Disney’s Planes: Fire & Rescue.
The magazine's travel editor, Jade Bremner, said: 'Bear Grylls has managed to create his own brand of adventure TV.
'He's mastered the art of getting viewers to wince and squirm, while leaving them tempted to actually try the scary stunts and weird bugs on their own travels.'
